Material & Machine Matching
Leather work is defined by material thickness and layer count, which is why feed system matters more than speed here.
Vegetable-tanned and chrome leather from 1.2 mm up to 3 mm and beyond needs a walking foot that drives from above and below so layers do not shift. PU synthetic leather and coated canvas are thinner but slippery, so the same compound feed keeps seams straight. Luggage trolley cases stack multiple rigid layers — these need high presser-foot clearance and a larger needle, which is exactly what a walking foot and double needle machine provide.
Two machines are non-negotiable for structured bags: a high column (post bed) machine to reach into gussets and corners, and a walking foot machine for panels and straps. Pair needle and thread to the material — DP×17 needles from #16 to #23 with bonded thread for heavy hide.
What’s Included with Each Machine
Every machine ships as a complete working unit: machine head, heavy-duty table and stand, servo motor, LED work light, and a tool kit with an English manual. Voltage is configured per market (220V / 230V / 240V) — see your country page for local power and certification details.

Can a standard lockstitch machine sew leather?+
No — leather needs a walking foot or compound-feed machine. A standard lockstitch will skip stitches and stall on thick hide.
What machine do I need for luggage trolley cases with thick layers?+
A walking foot machine with high presser-foot clearance handles multi-layer cases. Add a double needle machine for twin parallel seams.
Do you supply needles and feet for leather?+
Yes — we keep leather needles (DP×17 #16–25) and specialist presser feet in stock.
Can I start a bag workshop with 3 machines?+
Yes — a starter line of 2 walking foot machines and 1 high column machine is enough to begin producing bags and small goods.
