Material & Machine Matching

Footwear is the one industry where a post bed (high column) machine is not optional — it is the defining machine of the workshop. Shoe uppers are curved, closed, three-dimensional shapes; the tall, narrow post slides inside the upper so you can sew around the curve, something a flatbed machine physically cannot do.

For the flat components — insoles, linings, simple straps — a walking foot or leather machine handles the panels. Pair the two, and you cover both the curved upper work and the flat panel work.

Shoe production is often partly outsourced across small workshops, so a lean machine set is common: two or three post bed machines plus a leather machine for panels, adding a bartack machine for reinforced stress points as volume grows.

What’s Included with Each Machine

Every machine ships as a complete working unit: machine head, table and stand, servo motor, LED work light, and a tool kit with an English manual. Voltage is configured per market (220V / 230V / 240V) — see your country page for local power and certification details.

Frequently Asked Questions

Why do I need a post bed machine for shoes?+

Shoe uppers are curved, closed 3D shapes. A post bed machine has a tall, narrow post that slides inside the upper, reaching seams a flatbed machine cannot.

What machine do I use for shoe upper stitching?+

A high column (post bed) machine — it is the standard machine for upper stitching in footwear production.

Can a flatbed machine sew shoe uppers?+

Only for flat components. For the curved upper seams, a flatbed machine cannot reach, so a post bed is essential.

Do you supply parts for shoe machines?+

Yes — needles, presser feet and hooks for post bed and heavy-duty machines are kept in stock.
