Material & Machine Matching

Upholstery work is dominated by wide panels and thick, foam-backed fabric. The challenge is not material hardness but scale: sofa panels and cushion covers are large, and the fabric is heavy enough to pull and shift under a normal feed.

The solution is a walking foot machine with a large table — the compound feed keeps thick layers aligned while the large surface supports wide panels. A double needle machine adds twin parallel seams, the standard finish on sofa and furniture covers.

One honest note: we do not supply long-arm machines. For wide panels, our recommended approach is a walking foot or double needle machine on a large table, rather than a long-arm specialist. If you also produce mattresses, a tape-edge machine finishes the border seam.

What’s Included with Each Machine

Every machine ships as a complete working unit: machine head, heavy-duty table and stand, servo motor, LED work light, and a tool kit with an English manual. Voltage is configured per market (220V / 230V / 240V) — see your country page for local power and certification details.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need a long-arm machine for sofas?+

A long-arm machine helps on very wide panels, but we do not supply long-arm models. Our walking foot and double needle machines handle sofa panels using a large table and compound feed instead.

What machine handles thick upholstery fabric?+

A walking foot machine — its compound feed drives thick, foam-backed fabric without slipping or puckering.

Can a walking foot machine sew sofa panels?+

Yes. For wide panels, a large table gives you the working area; the walking foot keeps the layers aligned.

Do you supply parts for upholstery machines?+

Yes — needles, presser feet and feed dogs for heavy-duty models are kept in stock.
